Spirit Cobra - RuneScape - Money Making

Using this method at its peak, I made over 1000000 an hour. At the moment, you can make about

500000 an hour

if you ensure that you are working throughout the hour.

For this money making method, one requires the following:

Wolf Whistle
Summoning Level 63

For one hour of work, you require the following items:

1 Spirit Cobra Pouch
580 Eggs
580 Ophidian Incubation Scrolls

Walkthrough:

Summon your familiar. Instantly use 20 scrolls to create 20 cockatrice eggs. Every 30 seconds, you can use 5 scrolls. It is advised to have 25 inventory slots filled with eggs, one with the scrolls and the remaining two left empty or with items to cast high alchemy on. Make sure you bank when all your inventory is converted. It is advised to stay near a bank which is near to an obelisk (such as Edgeville), although you should have no need to restore your points for the hour.

Results (As Of 16th September):

1 x Spirit Cobra Pouch (1904:2104)
580 x Eggs (99:104)
580 x Ophidian Incubation Scrolls (277:307)
Total (Min) = 219984
Total (Max) = 240484

580 x Cockatrice Eggs (1161:1283
Total (Min) = 673380
Total (Max) = 744140

Profit (Min) = 432896
Profit (Max) = 524156

Notes:

The only way to aquire the maximum profit is if you ensure that you instantly cast your first five scrolls and ensure that you always stay below 45 special points. Otherwise, you will end up with losing point regeneration time and the values have been calculated for the maximum regeneration.

You can substitute purchasing the scrolls with purchasing the pouches and converting them yourself. This saves on some money and also awards experience.

If you have spare God bird, penguin, raven or vulture eggs, you can use them for more money! Raven eggs alone sell for almost 50000.

If the price of the cockatrice egg was to fall below 500 each, this method will stop being reliable.

Arcanist Diving - FunOrb - Money Making

If you are in a battle in Arcanists and your team looks set for defeat, there is a way to almost guarantee that you get a wand. Simply jump into the water and keep teleporting back into the water. You will recieve the award of 'Most Wet' and therefore you will normaly recieve a wand. However, if you played well in the match so far, this may reduce the amount of wands you recieve.

Expanding - General

As the number of Jagex game websites are expanding, so must we. I have decided therefore to now cover how to make and save money in FunOrb, Stellar Dawn and War Of Legends. As it is more difficult to come up with content based on these games, expect a few posts only when relevant tips have been discovered. If you are able to assist in one of these areas, make sure you apply for a staff position.

H.A.M. Trails - Money Making

Introduction

Treasure Trails - for most people, there is nothing worse than reaching the end of a treasure trail and finding your reward to be worth nothing more than a few coins. Clue scrolls can take a long time to find and in the process of the train you could have earned more money. There is however one way to make a consistent profit from the trails although it is not guaranteed. From about five hours using this method, I have found a full gold trimmed wizard set and many parts for the black armour set. You only have to follow level one trails and there are very low requirements for this method.

Requirements

Level 15 thieving

Access to the H.A.M. headquarters

Suggestions

Teleport gear (Lumbridge ring 3 is good)
Some spare money for the clues
Bank space
Thieving upgrades (such as completing capers for the thieving guild)
 Full H.A.M. gear

Walkthrough

1) Make your way to the H.A.M. headquarters located between Draynor and Lumbridge.
2) Once inside, find a female member to pickpocket until you receive a scroll (average time of < 5 minutes)
3) Complete the trail (average time of < 15 minutes)
4) Sell the items on the grand exchange

Explanation

The main reason for most treasure trails failing to break even is due to not enough being completed in a small space of time. Although this method does take a large amount of luck, you do still have many chances to get good rewards as you get the scrolls very quickly and the trails are short. If you keep trying, you should eventually make over half a million every hour.

What I Found

Keep going and you may earn this item set like me, valued over five million coins. You may also recieve a deluxe thirty body rune set and crossbow, valued at under one thousand coins.

Cactus Spines - Money Making

Would you like to earn over one million coins in less than an hour?

The cactus produces about three spines an hour and can be grown with a farming level of 55. At the moment, spines sell for 5000gp each. If you are to harvest all three spines on the hour for twelve hours, you would end up with thirty six spines and therefore 180000gp. As this method only requires you to log on for around thirty seconds, you can use it if you do not have much time to play. Over a week, you could earn 1260000gp if you repeated this daily. Quite good for fourty two minutes work...

Wimpy feathers - Item Watch

- Reason -

With the new update, wimpy feathers now have a use in a potion. As there was little use before, the feathers are now worth more! Don't expect much for each feather - it may rise by only 2 gp! I have put the profit at low, but it depends on how many you are willing to buy - if you bought 10000 at 11gp and they rose to 13gp, you would have gone from 110000 gp to 130000 gp - a 20k profit.

- Rating -

Risk = Low

Profit = Low

Cost = Low

- Result -

The feathers have soared to 20gp - almost double the starting price. Following my earlier example, a simple 110000gp investment could have given you up to 90000k in profit or very nearly doubled the money on your account! For those who took the oportunity, a great victory.

Unicows - Money Making

After the 'Tower Of Life' quest, players have access to a range of new monsters. The best monster is the unicow. To create a unicow, players need to use a piece of cowhide (120 gp) and a unicorn horn (1045 gp) on the creature altar. A unicow with combat level 25 and 24 hitpoints spawns which the player should kill. Unicows always drop bones which can be buried and two to four unicorn horns. This means that a player will make a minimum of 925 gp from a drop of two horns and a maximum of 3015 gp for four drops. This is a good monster therefore for low leveled players to slay.

Based on an average of three drops, thirteen cowhides are purchased (1560 gp) and one unicorn horn (1045 gp) meaning a total expenditure of 2605 gp. In one trip an inventory of 26 unicorn horns (27170 gp) is made as well as the first horn being earned back (1045 gp). This means in this instance, a profit of 25610 was made in one trip. Quite good for thirteen level 25s!

As a bonus, you may recieve a nice bag to store some food in and a flask - it is advised not to keep more than one as they will take up a lot of space in your inventory and do not stack in the bank.

Trout - Money Saving

Most methods of cooking training involve buying large amounts of high level and costly fish, cooking and burning them then selling them back to the grand exchange. This may be a fast method, but it is a waste of money.

One alternative is to buy raw trout (29 gp on the grand exchange), cook it and sell it back (31 gp on the grand exchange). With this method, you would even make a slight profit if you did not burn the fish. This method is much slower, but it will save you money. At level 45, you will no longer burn it on the lumbridge stove, at 48 on any other stove and at 50 on any fire. You can also wear the family crest gauntlets.

Farming - Money Making

Many players refuse to train farming due to the fact that a lot of money and time has to be spent for no real profit. However, what they do not see is that some plants are actually worthwile to grow and pay the farmer to look after - saving all important time to make some profit.

The most profitable plants to grow are fruit trees and bushes, as well as one normal tree.

An apple tree costs about 40 coins to buy the seed and 1300 coins for nine raw sweetcorn, the farmer's payment. Each apple harvested from the tree sells on the grand exchange for approximately 290 coins each. Therefore, in one visit to your tree you can make around 1,740 coins, paying for the tree growth. You can repeatedly harvest apples from your tree, six every half an hour. This only requires level 27 farming.

A willow tree costs about 2,900 coins to buy the seed and 1700 coins for the basket of five apples, the farmer's payment. Each willow branch harvested from the tree sells on the grand exchange for approximately 790 coins each. Therefore, in one visit to your tree you can make around 4,740 coins, paying for the tree growth. You can repeated harvest branches from your tree, six every half an hour. This only requires level 30 farming.

An orange tree costs about 240 coins to buy the seed and 990 coins for three baskets of strawberries, the farmer's payment. Each orange harvested from the tree sells on the grand exchange for approximately 260 coins each. Therefore, in one visit to your tree you can make around 1,560 coins, paying for the tree growth. You can repeatedly harvest oranges from your tree, six every half an hour. This only requires level 39 farming.

A jangerberry bush costs about 50 coins to buy the seed and 500 coins for six watermelons, the farmer's payment. Each berry harvested from the bush sells on the grand exchange for approximately 470 coins each. Therefore, in one visit to your tree you can make around 1,880 coins, paying for the tree growth. You can repeatedly harvest berries from your bush, four every twenty minutes. This requires a high level of 48 farming.

A whiteberry bush costs about 70 coins to buy the seed and 890 coins for eight mushrooms, the farmer's payment. Each berry harvested from the bush sells on the grand exchange for approximately 640 coins each. Therefore, in one visit to your tree you can make around 2,560 coins, paying for the tree growth. You can repeatedly harvest berries from your bush, four every twenty minutes. This requires a high level of 59 farming.

A poison ivy bush costs about 190 coins to buy the seed and no farmer's payment. Each berry harvested from the tree sells on the grand exchange for approximately 620 coins each. Therefore, in one visit to your tree you can make around 2,480 coins, paying for the bush's growth. You can repeatedly harvest berries from your tree, four every twenty minutes. This requires a high level of 70 farming.

Shard Swapping - Money Making

The ogre Bogrog has the ability to swap your pouches for spirit shards, providing you have the correct level. Some pouches can be purchased off the grand exchange and then converted into shards and sold back to make profit. This method relies heavily on grand exchange prices.

Here is a spreadsheet

If you update the grand exchange prices, money to invest and summoning level, you can find out how much money you can make with which pouch.

Pickaxe Handle - Item Watch

- Reason -

The graph for the pickaxe handle shows a rapid rise over the month. It has risen in price by 91.9% and is now at 656 coins and may be stabalising. People are probably buying them due to the random event being removed and hoping that they become a rare item. You could try to hold on to them, but this is risky as they may not be refunded, so I advise to sell the majority.

- Rating -

Risk = Medium

Profit = Medium

Cost = Low

- Result -

The pickaxe handle soared up in price but all pickaxe handles have been removed from the game, without refund. If you managed to buy some then sell them, you should have made a good profit. If you have some still, you may have lost some.

Blood Runes - Item Watch

- Reason -

The usually stable graph for the blood runes has started to shoot up dramatically! Over the last five days they have risen from 275 to 302 gp which is a 10% rise and they show no sign of dropping. If you invest a lot of money, it is unlikely you will lose out as I predict they will return to their normal eventually. The sudden rise may be due to people fighting at Soul Wars.

- Rating -

Risk = Low

Profit = Medium

Cost = Low

- Result -

The price of the blood runes rose to a peak but then started to drop off again - they are now back to the normal price. If you bought at the peak, you may have made a loss, but if you bought before then there would have been a moderate profit. It is likely, that the outcome was a draw.
